Choose the chart convention

This is a rotating hour chart using the current solar term and three-yuan, five-day head selection. Enter China Standard Time (UTC+08:00). Choose whether late Rat hour at 23:00 belongs to the same day or the following day.

Read the layers

Earthly plate stems establish the bureau. Heavenly plate stems, nine stars, eight doors and eight deities add separate layers. The centre star joins Kun palace in the rotating layout.

Chief star and chief door

Zhi Fu identifies the chief star and Zhi Shi the chief door. Their movement follows the hour stem and the head of its ten-pair decade. Keep the two layers distinct when reading the chart.
