Zi Wei Dou Shu: Purple Star Charts and Palaces
Zi Wei Dou Shu places stars into twelve life-area palaces using the lunar birth date and two-hour birth period. Its Life Palace, Body Palace and Five-Element Bureau organize the chart.
Build a palace chart
Enter a Gregorian birth date, recorded local birth hour and the traditional male or female calculation. The chart converts to the lunar date, places stars and marks the Body Palace.
Read the star groups
Fourteen major stars establish the principal star pattern. Minor stars add named correspondences; decorative stars add another layer. A palace with no major star is still part of the chart.
Follow transformations and cycles
Lu 禄, Quan 权, Ke 科 and Ji 忌 mark four kinds of transformation. Their stars are selected by a heavenly stem. Ten-year palace ranges and annual palace labels add timing to the natal layout.
