Choose the building period
Periods are twenty-year intervals: Period 7 began in 1984, Period 8 in 2004 and Period 9 in 2024. Use the period assigned to the building’s occupancy or qualifying renewal under the tradition you follow.
Enter the facing bearing
Facing is the outward direction used for the building; sitting is 180° opposite. Twenty-four mountains divide the circle into 15° sectors. Take repeat compass readings away from steel and electrical interference, and match magnetic or true bearings consistently.
Stars and flight
The star’s home trigram supplies a mountain at the same Earth, Heaven or Human ordinal as the building mountain. Yang flies forward and Yin backward. For a centre of five, this chart uses the actual facing or sitting mountain polarity.
