Chinese Astrology Classical Texts: BaZi and Zi Wei

BaZi study commonly turns to San Ming Tong Hui, Yuan Hai Zi Ping, Di Tian Sui and Qiong Tong Bao Jian; Zi Wei Dou Shu Quan Shu belongs to the palace-star tradition.

BaZi texts

San Ming Tong Hui is a broad Ming-era compendium. Yuan Hai Zi Ping gathers material associated with Zi Ping charting. Di Tian Sui is a compact verse text with later commentaries; Qiong Tong Bao Jian emphasizes seasonal and climate adjustment.

Zi Wei and the Changes

Zi Wei Dou Shu Quan Shu discusses star-and-palace charting. The Zhou Yi contains hexagram and line texts, while the later Wings expand their symbolic and philosophical reading.

Reading an edition

A classical text, later commentary and modern translation can offer different layers. Match a named rule to the edition being read, particularly when comparing chart structures, useful-god choices or transformation tables.
